the
Holy Ghost, ever one God, now and for ever.
Amen

evil. (Amen)

Proper 28 (page 236 of BCP)
Blessed Lord, who hast caused
all holy Scriptures to be written for our learning:
Grant that we may in such wise hear them, read, mark,
learn,
and inwardly digest them; that, by patience and comfort
of thy holy Word,
we may embrace and ever hold fast the blessed hope of
everlasting life,
which thou hast given us in our Savior Jesus Christ;
who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever. Amen
Trisagion Hymn

Holy God, Holy and Mighty, Holy Immortal One, Have mercy on us.

who
hast safely brought us to the beginning of this day:

for
thy mercies’ sake. Amen
Lord
Jesus Christ, who said to your apostles,
“Peace
I give to you; my own peace I leave with you:”
Regard
not our sins, but the faith of thy church,

and unity of that heavenly City,
where thou livest and reigneth with the
Father and the Holy Spirit
now and for
ever. Amen

Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee,

the handmaid of the Lord; be it done to me according to thy word.

Pray
for us, O holy Mother of God, that we may be worthy of the promises of Christ.
We
beseech thee, O Lord, pour thy grace into our hearts:
that,
as we have known the incarnation of thy Son Jesus Christ by the message of an
angel,
so
by his cross and passion † we may be brought unto glory of his resurrection;
through the same
Christ our Lord. Amen

Queen of heaven, be joyful, alleluia;
Because
he whom so fittingly you bore, alleluia,

arisen as he promised, alleluia,

Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.
Evening Prayers
Lord
Jesus, stay with us, for evening is at hand and the day is past;
be
our companion in the way, kindle our hearts, and awaken hope,
that
we may know thee as thou art revealed in Scripture
and the breaking of
the bread.
Grant this for the sake of thy love. Amen
Lighten
our darkness, we beseech thee O Lord;
and
by thy great mercy defend us from all perils and dangers of this night;
for
the love of thy only Son, our Savior Jesus Christ Amen
Be
present, O merciful God, and protect us through the hours of this night,
so
that we who are wearied by the changes
and
chances of this life may rest in thy eternal changelessness;
through
Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
Look
down, O Lord, from thy heavenly throne,
and
illumine this night with thy celestial brightness;
that
by night as by day thy people may glorify thy holy Name;
through
Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
Visit
this place, O Lord, and drive far from it all snares of the enemy;
let
thy holy angels dwell with us to preserve us in peace;
and let thy blessing
be upon us always;
through Jesus Christ
our Lord. Amen
I
will lay down in peace and take my rest, for it is thee,
Lord,
only, that maketh me live in safety.
† Into thy hands, O Lord, I commend my spirit,
for thou hast
redeemed me,
O Lord,
God of all truth.
O
Lord, support us all the day long, until the shadows lengthen,
and
the evening comes, and
the busy world is hushed, and
the
fever of life is over, and our work is done.
Then
in thy mercy, grant us a safe lodging,
and a
holy rest, and peace at the last. Amen
